Aiding
and A-Petting |
Trish Before Treatment
|
|
Trish
is a wonderfully sweet and playful young
girl.
She came to Aiding and A-Petting with
the worst case of mange we had ever seen.
An 18-year-old boy had brought her
home and kept her in the basement.
When they noticed she started getting
a skin infection, they did not take her to
the vet as they did not want to spend the
money.
The neighbor intervened and contacted
Aiding and A-Petting.

Trish After Treatment
|
|
Poor
Trish spent weeks living at Dr. Innocent's
Northside Animal Hospital. while undergoing
treatment.
Now she is in a foster home and
having a great time!
She is still taking medication to
prevent a re-infection.
But she will be done with that soon.
Just look at her now!!!

Bear,
Rescued and helped by FurKids
This
handsome boy wandered up to a farm where he
was received with open arms. When taken to
the vet for an exam, it was revealed that he
had heartworms. Furkids was called in to
help Bear with treatment and spent $800 on
his treatment and necessary boarding. Bear
was healthy enough to participate in the
Walk-Run on
October
30, 2006
.
And the Nason family fell in immediate love
with him and adopted him a week later!
Thanks to his participation in the Walk-Run,
Bear found his forever home!

Koko
is a beautiful Tokinese
cat that developed diabetes early in life.
Her owner was not able to provide the daily
care needed for a cat with this condition
and elected to euthanize
her. Fortunately, a plea was made to Furkids
and we took her in. Koko
needed expensive treatment and care to get
her stabilized on her insulin. Today, she is
stable, healthy and looking for a home that
doesn’t mind her health condition. She is
a special cat and deserves the very best of
homes. Diabetes can be easily treated with
daily monitoring and care.

Little
Zander was
brought to Furkids with an obvious foot
infection. Months of tests and antibiotics
had not cured his foot. Zander’s
activity had to be limited for several
months and he received daily foot baths and
antibiotics. He was referred to a specialist
at UGA where he stayed for two weeks while
they tried to diagnose his rare condition.
We are pleased to report that the fine vets
at UGA successfully diagnosed his fungal
infection and treated him with a drug
recently developed at UGA for a sick animal
at the Georgia Aquarium. It worked and Zander
is now on his way to being 100% healed! He
will be able to keep his foot and enjoy a
normal life!

Ben
is about 7 yrs old when he came to Aiding
and A-Petting. That leaves a lot of years
left to love. Wandering the streets without
medical care or attention was hard for Ben.
The pads on his feet were dried and cracked.
He had painful ear and eye infections that
have been treated so he feels a bit better!
On top of all that he was born with a bad
knee that requires surgery. Life has dealt
Ben a few problems but he will overcome them
all, thanks to good medical care and TLC.
He enjoys being with people, kids,
and other dogs. He loves to take walks. He
can now that his knees are repaired..

Jack
Black (Zack) – this little kitten was
found in a parking lot and something was
obvious wrong with his legs. Furkids was
called to help and we immediately received
him and took him to our doctor. Upon
examination, little Jack Black was found to
have two broken legs. A caring surgeon
offered to provide Jack Black the ability to
walk again and discount his services so
Furkids could afford the surgery. As a
result, Jack Black is healing very well and
will have a long healthy life in front of
him.
