The LifeSavers Fund considers
emergency "life threatening" to be
those cases for whom the attending
veterinarian has confirmed that the animal
will die or have to be euthanized within 48
hours if no financial help is available.
The
emergency fund must be able to respond
to animal emergencies immediately. Very
often, the animal is in a state of
crisis where we have minutes, not days
to make life-saving decisions. In these
situations we depend on available funds
to make grant disbursements.
Please donate
NOW to have these funds available when
the need arises.
Special
consideration is given to true life
threatening emergencies ONLY.
Your case
is considered an emergency ONLY
if we have received a written estimate from
your vet and it is stated on the estimate
that your pet will die or have to be
euthanized within 48 hours if treatment is
not provided.
LifeSavers
emergency funds are very limited. We are
only able to help a small number of
applicants.
What we can do will depends on
availability of funds.
Get a written estimate from your vet and fax
it to us, or have your vet fax it to 770
455-7522. We can do absolutely
nothing without a written estimate. The
estimate must include the following
information: 1) Owners full name and address 2) The name of your pet and the
species (cat, dog, etc) 3) Diagnosis 4) Prognosis 5) Complete breakdown of
treatment needed and costs. This
should NOT include the costs of any
treatment already provided. 6) The vet MUST advise LifeSaver that
your pet will die or have to be euthanized
within 48 hours if treatment is not
provided.
7) The vet must indicate whether
or not they are willing to work within
LifeSavers payment policies.
