Update

Mrs. H. had been reluctant to bring Little Bit to the veterinarian because their house was flooded during Katrina and they had little insurance to cover the cost of repairs.  Mrs. H and her husband are an elderly couple on a fixed income.  They are attempting to sheetrock and repair their house by themselves to conserve their funds.  They have had a rough year. She told the staff how important Little Bit was to her and her husband since the deaths of her son and grandson over the last year. They love their little dog and he is a big part of their life.. and their recovery. They could not bear to see him in pain. But they could not afford his medical treatment.

Dr St Germain co-owner of Causeway AH diagnosis indicated Little Bit was suffering from a chronic and painful urinary tract problem. He also has a painful arthritic left knee caused by a severe chronic dislocation. The condition has gone untreated because of financial hardship.

When Dr. St Germain, told Mrs. H that financial assistance was being provided for the care and treatment of Lil Bit from the LifeSaver Fund and discounted services from Causeway AH, she broke down and cried. She expressed relief and was very grateful for kind people who made this possible.

Causeway AH is in the process of treating her urinary tract problem and hope to be able to repair her knee in the near future.  We will keep you up to date on Little Bit’s progress.

Update on Little Bit

Little Bit has improved with medical treatment of her bladder condition, but she continues to have leakage and discomfort.  Surgery was performed to solve the urinary condition, and to repair her damaged knee at the same time.  The surgeries went very well. She made a full recovery.  Her mom and dad are so thankful that the help of the LifeSaver Fund was available to them.
